Robert Half Administrative Assistant in Richmond, Virginia

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity in the local government sector, specifically in the city of Richmond, Virginia. The role is centered around administrative duties and customer service, demanding a high level of organization and attention to detail. The position is pivotal in maintaining smooth office operations and providing comprehensive support to our team.

Responsibilities:

• Manage inbound calls, promptly addressing inquiries and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders.

• Deliver high-quality customer service, resolving issues efficiently and fostering a positive relationship with the public.

• Conduct data entry tasks with accuracy, updating and maintaining relevant databases and systems.

• Handle email correspondence, responding in a timely and detail oriented manner to internal and external communications.

• Oversee scheduling of appointments, coordinating calendars and facilitating meetings or events as necessary.

• Utilize Microsoft Office Suite (including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word) to create documents, manage data, and conduct presentations.

• Balance both inbound and outbound calls, ensuring effective communication channels.

• Maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Requirements • Must have experience in answering inbound calls and handling both inbound and outbound calls effectively

• Proven customer service skills, with the ability to handle customer queries and complaints professionally

• Ability to enter and manage data accurately, demonstrating data entry skills

• Proficient in email correspondence, with the ability to draft and respond to emails professionally

• Should be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Word

• Must have the ability to schedule appointments, manage calendars, and coordinate meetings

• Previous experience in a local government setting is beneficial

• Experience in administrative roles, particularly as an administrative assistant, is preferred

• Must be able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills

• High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
