Description
Responsibilities:
Install, terminate, and test various types of network cables, including copper and fiber optic cables
Perform cable routing, pulling, and dressing to ensure clean and organized cable runs
Install and configure network devices, such as switches, routers, and wireless access points
Conduct cable infrastructure audits and document network connectivity and cable paths
Troubleshoot and resolve cable-related issues, including signal degradation and connectivity problems
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and implement cable infrastructure projects
Conduct cable and equipment testing to ensure adherence to industry standards and specifications
Maintain accurate records of cable inventory, including cable types, lengths, and locations
Adhere to safety procedures and guidelines while working with power tools and in construction environments
Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies in cable infrastructure
Requirements
Requirements:
2+ years of experience in cable installation and maintenance, preferably in a commercial or industrial environment
Strong knowledge of cable types and standards, including Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic cables, and associated connectors
Proficiency in cable termination techniques, including punch-down blocks, RJ45 connectors, and fiber optic connectors
Familiarity with cable testing and certification tools, such as cable testers and OTDRs
Basic understanding of network infrastructure components, including switches, routers, and patch panels
Ability to pass a drug screening and background check
Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain clean and organized cable runs
Ability to work independently and follow instructions with minimal supervision
Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with team members and clients
Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to different work sites as required
