Robert Half Desktop Support Technician II in Richmond, Virginia

Description

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to end-users for software, hardware and mobile device requests.

  • Diagnoses and resolves hardware and software problems.

  • Works with users to understand the issue, identifies and applies fixes locally or coordinates resolution with internal or external resources to ensure user satisfaction

  • Installs and maintains hardware and software on phones, computers and peripherals as well as network attached printers, and scanners.

  • Understands and maintains network infrastructure, supporting voice, data and mobile devices.

  • Provide patch management for servers and workstations using WSUS and Group Policy.

  • Administers network monitoring tool to address warnings, remediate fixes and optimize storage as needed.

    Requirements

Requirements:

  • Must have 2-3 years of experience as a Desktop Support Technician in an environment of servers, desktop systems and communications devices using current technologies.

  • The employee must have excellent knowledge of Microsoft office 2016-2019, networking and be proficient in utilizing internet to resolve IT related issues.

  • Must have experience with troubleshooting Windows 10, LAN, Microsoft Office.

  • Able to lift heavy objects (50lbs or more): assistance can be solicited.

  • Previous experience in automation (scheduling new user set-up, security updates, automatically remove or add users into a group, adding a new printer and other tasks).

  • Must have overall great technical knowledge, proactive personality, and attention to detail.

  • MCP or/and A+ certification preferred.
