Robert Half Human Resources (HR) Assistant in Richmond, Virginia

Description

We are in search of a Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Richmond, Virginia. As an HR Assistant, you will be instrumental in handling various HR-related tasks in our company, from processing applications and maintaining accurate records to resolving inquiries. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting with recruitment efforts, including job postings, screening applications, conducting preliminary interviews, and scheduling final interviews with department heads.

  • Managing employee documentation, ensuring all paperwork are up to date and within compliance standards.

  • Assisting with the implementation and administration of HR policies and procedures.

  • Providing advice, assistance, and follow-up on organizational policies, procedures, and documentation.

  • Coordinating the resolution of specific policy-related and procedural problems and inquiries within the public safety and EMS departments.

  • Coordinating HR projects, meetings, and training seminars.

  • Assisting in the coordination and execution of uniformed and civilian performance evaluations.

  • Monitoring EMS licensing and certifications, arranging for continuing education training as necessary.

  • Collaborating with management to mitigate potential risk, HR-related or otherwise.

    Requirements • Proficiency in ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now

• Familiarity with ATS - Asynchronous Transfer Mode

• Experience with Ceridian and HRMS

• Knowledge of About Time software

• Proficient in auditing practices

• Experience in conducting background checks

• Understanding of benefit functions and their application

• Strong customer service skills and experience

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Ability to work well in a team as well as independently

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred

• Previous experience in a human resources role is beneficial

• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
