Robert Half Medical Data Entry Clerk in Richmond, Virginia

Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Medical Data Entry Clerk in the Healthcare/NHS industry, based in Richmond, Virginia. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and updating medical records, processing healthcare information, and providing administrative support within a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately enter and process healthcare data in line with internal protocols.

• Utilize software tools such as Adobe Acrobat, Allscripts, and Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) for data entry tasks.

• Manage and maintain accurate customer credit records and billing functions.

• Actively participate in clinical trial operations, ensuring the smooth running of processes.

• Respond to and resolve customer inquiries in a timely and detail oriented manner.

• Monitor and update patient accounts, taking appropriate action where necessary.

• Create and maintain charts and graphs to visually represent data.

• Handle claim administration tasks, ensuring all are processed and tracked accurately.

• Provide administrative support for answering inbound calls.

• Maintain a high level of data entry accuracy and speed at all times. Requirements • Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat, Allscripts, Care Compass, and Cerner Technologies.

• Experience with the Armed Forces Health Longitudinal Technology Application (AHLTA) is highly desirable.

• Ability to handle answering inbound calls professionally and efficiently.

• Familiarity with billing functions within a healthcare setting.

• Experience in creating charts and graphs to present data visually.

• Knowledge of claim administration procedures and practices.

• Exposure to clinical trial operations will be advantageous.

• Proficient in data entry with high attention to detail and accuracy.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with healthcare privacy laws.

• Basic knowledge of medical terminologies.

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.

• Previous experience in a similar role within the healthcare industry is preferred.

• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
