Robert Half PC Technician in Richmond, Virginia
Description We are in search of a PC Technician to join our team in the retail industry based in Richmond, Virginia. This short-term contract role involves various responsibilities including uninstalling and reinstalling PC/Monitor stands, and handling new equipment setup and recycling. Experience with wiring is an essential part of the job.
Responsibilities:
• Uninstall existing PC/Monitor stands to prepare for new installations
• Reinstall PC/Monitor on new stands or desks, ensuring proper setup and configuration
• Handle new equipment, including unboxing, installation, and moving boxes to recycling
• Manage wiring tasks, demonstrating proficiency and rigorous attention to safety standards
• Remove technology from desks as required and install demo'ed technology
• Install new technology on new desks, ensuring seamless integration and minimal disruption
• Conduct any necessary troubleshooting and provide resolution for any technical issues that arise during the installation process
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to company's standards and policies. Requirements • Must have a strong understanding of PC Desktop - Workstation
• Open to candidates with 0+ years of experience in a related role
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Basic understanding of computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products
• Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot basic technical issues
• Familiarity with remote desktop applications and help desk software
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
• Ability to provide step-by-step technical help, both written and verbal
• Knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs
• Ability to perform remote troubleshooting and provide clear instructions
• Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, retail environment
• Must be able to work well independently and as part of a team
• Excellent customer service skills with a problem-solving mindset
