Robert Half PC Technician in Richmond, Virginia
Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a PC Technician in the retail industry, located in Richmond, Virginia. This role involves comprehensive responsibilities related to PC and Monitor installation, uninstallation, and wiring tasks.
Responsibilities:
• Dismantle PC/Monitor stands as required.
• Install PCs/Monitors on new stands/desks.
• Conduct wiring tasks associated with PC/Monitor installation.
• Unbox new monitors and docks in preparation for installation.
• Remove technology from desks as needed.
• Install technology on new desks.
• Dispose of packaging material responsibly by moving boxes to recycling.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment during and after installation tasks.
• Understand and follow the guidelines and procedures for new equipment installation.
• Handle delicate equipment with care to avoid damages during the uninstallation and installation process. Requirements • Applicants must have a minimum of 0 years of experience in a similar role or relevant field.
• Knowledge and experience with PC Desktop - Workstation is required.
• Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent educational qualification.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting hardware, software, and network issues is a must.
• Ability to install, upgrade, and maintain desktop computers and peripheral equipment is required.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to perform under pressure.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills are needed to interact with users and understand their issues.
• Familiarity with different operating systems, especially Windows, is required.
• Ability to document procedures and maintain records of repairs and fixes.
• Availability to work retail hours, including weekends and holidays, if required.
• Must be able to lift and move equipment as needed.
• Basic knowledge of network security practices and anti-virus programs.
• Strong attention to detail and organisational skills are required.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
