Robert Half PC Technician in Richmond, Virginia
Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a PC Technician in the retail industry, located in Richmond, Virginia. The role will involve handling various tasks related to computer technology, including the setup and installation of new systems, as well as the maintenance of existing ones.
Responsibilities:
• Unbox new equipment such as monitors and docks, preparing them for installation.
• Remove existing technology from desks as required to make room for new equipment.
• Install newly unboxed technology on desks, ensuring they are set up properly for use.
• Handle the demonstration of new technology to users, explaining features and functions.
• Move unboxed equipment and packaging materials to designated recycling areas.
• Maintain accurate records of all installations, removals, and equipment inventory.
• Resolve any technical issues that arise during the installation or use of the equipment.
• Monitor the condition and functionality of installed equipment, taking appropriate action when necessary.
• Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth operations in the technology department.
• Continuously update knowledge on new technology and installation procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Requirements • Candidates must possess a minimum of 0 years of experience in the retail industry.
• Familiarity with PC Desktop - Workstation is required.
• Working knowledge of retail software and hardware systems is preferred.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are necessary.
• Ability to provide excellent customer service is important.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are required.
• Basic understanding of networking systems is beneficial.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Flexibility to work during retail hours, including weekends and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification is required.
• Ability to maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
• Proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Must possess strong organizational skills.
