Robert Half Project Billing Accountant in Richmond, Virginia

Description We are offering an exciting role within the service industry located in Richmond, Virginia. Our team is in search of a Sr. Accountant who will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing contracts and job cost data, monitoring job performance, and effectively communicating with all levels of the Operations and Sales team members. This role involves setting up new projects, maintaining project-specific subcontractor and supplier lien waivers, and ensuring that all job costs are fully accounted for and billed appropriately.

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze contracts and job cost data from source documents to produce accurate invoices

• Monitor job performance and receivable collection for assigned projects

• Communicate effectively with Operations and Sales team members regarding contract documents, change orders, and other contract modifications

• Set up new projects and open/close phases as needed

• Maintain project-specific subcontractor and supplier lien waivers

• Maintain billing folders for projects with all appropriate documents, including monthly invoices, in accordance with standard procedures

• Contact customers with past due balances to ensure invoices were received and handle any collection issues that may arise

• Prepare and distribute A/R reports to Operations and Sales for monthly progress review

• Perform project close outs in the accounting software and reach out to Operations team as needed

• Provide year-end support of auditor requirements, which may include research and reconciliation

• Maintain contract documents provided by Sales and Operations in project folders and accounting system.

Please note that this role requires Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, NetSuite, Oracle, SAP, and AIA Billing skills. Requirements • Demonstrated experience in a Senior Accountant role or similar position within the Service industry

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Balance Sheet Reconciliation, and Bank Reconciliations

• Strong knowledge of General Ledger management and Journal Entries

• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP software

• Experience in AIA Billing

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Strong analytical abilities and attention to detail

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field

• Relevant certification such as CPA is preferred.
