Description
We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Sr. Accountant in the Local Government industry located in Richmond, Virginia, 23219, United States. In this role, you will be managing various aspects of financial data, reporting, and analysis. You will be working closely with different departments and external partners, ensuring high-quality financial reporting and effective interdepartmental communication.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and maintain financial data
• Handle financial reporting of Billing and Reconciliation
• Oversee General Ledger Maintenance and Analysis
• Troubleshoot any reporting issues
• Utilize Intermediate-Advanced Excel skills for various tasks including Pivot and V-lookup
• Work between departments, ensuring smooth communication and cooperation
• Maintain keen attention to detail with numbers for accurate financial analysis.
Requirements • Possession of a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role within the Local Government sector
• Demonstrated proficiency in Financial Reporting
• Proven experience with General Ledger management
• Proficient in Account Reconciliation
• Strong Financial Analysis skills
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
• Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Knowledge of governmental accounting standards and principles
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred.
