Description
We are recruiting for a Sr. Accountant role within the insurance industry, based in Richmond, Virginia. This role involves account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and bank reconciliations, among other key duties. The role offers a long-term contract employment opportunity.
Responsibilities include:
• Managing account reconciliation tasks to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Performing balance sheet reconciliation, identifying and resolving any discrepancies
• Conducting bank reconciliations to confirm all transactions are recorded correctly
• Maintaining the general ledger, ensuring all entries are accurate and up-to-date
• Preparing and posting journal entries as part of the month/year-end close process
• Utilizing Microsoft Excel for data analysis and financial reporting
• Working with accounting software such as NetSuite, Oracle, and SAP to manage financial data
• Ensuring all financial operations are in line with industry and legal standards.
Requirements • Proven experience in Account Reconciliation
• Proficient in Balance Sheet Reconciliation
• Demonstrated ability in performing Bank Reconciliations
• Solid understanding and experience with General Ledger
• Capable of creating and managing Journal Entries
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Experience in Month End Close procedures
• Knowledge and experience of using NetSuite
• Proficiency in Oracle
• Familiarity and experience with SAP
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Excellent organizational and time management skills
• Knowledge of insurance industry is a plus
• CPA certification is preferred but not mandatory.
