Description Robert Half is looking for an experienced, organized individual to take on the long-term contract / temporary role of Staff Accountant at a growing, dynamic company. As a Staff Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will have responsibility for many aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. You will assist with the development and implementation of accounting policies. In addition, you will take part in compliance, review schedules for the reporting processes, and interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. This position is very involved as it will produce Cash Flow projections, Budgets, and Financial Statements. What you get to do every day
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Support fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Ad-hoc tasks and special projects, as needed
Play a role in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Take part the in implementation and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures, ensuring compliance with GAAP
Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
Report on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a useful and understandable manner
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments
Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules Requirements - Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Remarkable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Proficiency in Ad Hoc Analysis
Solid understanding of account reconciliation
Command of journal entries
Foundational knowledge in Microsoft Excel
Mature organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
ERP system experience
Excellent attention to detail
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
