Description Robert Half has partnered with an esteemed organization in the Automotive industry to find a Staff Accountant to join their dynamic team. In this position, the Staff Accountant prepares journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. You'll also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting during the monthly close. Additionally, you'll be participating in compliance, reviewing schedules for the reporting processes, and staying connected with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits. A very involved position, the Staff Accountant spends a good deal of time producing Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Located in the Richmond, Virginia area, the company offering this challenging long-term contract / temporary opportunity provides a thriving environment and rewards effort.
Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation
Manage the design and creation of balance sheet analysis and communicate reports to management
Manage capital lease and monthly payment schedules
Offer succinct analysis on a wide variety of financial data and communicate it in a clear and concise manner
Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision
Maintain intricate journal entries and account reconciliations including but not limited to cash, prepaid expenses and payroll
Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation
Be a part of various initiatives spanning multiple departments Requirements - Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Competent with spreadsheets and databases
Proficient in ERP systems
Ability to meet deadlines
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Recent and relevant accounting experience
GAAP Accounting experience
General ledger experience desired
Microsoft Excel experience
Journal entries experience required
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
Distinguished analytical, quantitative and social skills
