Robert Half Workday Payroll Specialist in Richmond, Virginia

Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Payroll Administrator in the Private Equity industry, based in Richmond, Virginia. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting centralized payroll for various operating companies, managing data entry and workflows, and providing guidance and support to HR representatives.

Responsibilities:

• Act as HR Help Desk dispatcher, responding to payroll, timekeeping, and tax questions, and escalating tickets to other team members as needed.

• Responsible for managing and approving workflows, and maintaining accurate payroll information in the HRIS System, including new hires, pay changes, and terminations.

• Provide guidance and support to HR representatives, supervisors, and other users in the HRIS System.

• Process multi-state payrolls as needed or delegated.

• Serve as a backup for payroll processing for all operating companies.

• Complete employment verifications, unemployment claims, and requests for information related to payroll and other employment data.

• Utilize strong Excel capabilities to conduct regular system audits, quality control, and data cleanup to ensure accuracy of data.

• Provide project and administrative support as needed to Payroll/HRIS Supervisor.

• Partner with System Analyst and other members of HR team on projects and providing customer support to operating companies.

• Serve as backup and participate in cross training with Benefits Specialist on benefits administration, billing, and benefit audits. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in payroll administration, preferably within the private equity industry

• Proficiency with ADP - Financial Services and ADP Workforce Now

• Familiarity with Ceridian and Kronos Timekeeping System

• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with 401k - RRSP Administration

• Knowledge of About Time software

• Proven experience in accounting functions

• Familiarity with benefit functions

• Experience in check processing

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion

• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills

• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and meet all deadlines.
