Description Robert Half is searching for an energetic Controller to join a reputable services company. In this leadership position, you will direct an accounting and clerical department. As the Controller, your tasks will include planning and directing all accounting operational functions, managing the accumulation and consolidation of financial information for internal and external financial statements, assessing accounting and internal control systems, and guiding departmental staff. Responsibilities
Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor on a monthly basis
Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed
Perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities
Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Review and revise deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations
Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation Requirements - Vow to meet business deadlines
Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
Deep understanding of Prepaids
Month end closings experience desired
Accruals experience preferred
Consolidated Financial Statements experience preferred
Fixed assets experience highly desired
Adeptness in KPI Reporting
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Extraordinary analytical, quantitative and social skills
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
CPA/MBA preferred
Outstanding communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
