Robert Half Accounting & Payroll Specialist in Roachdale, Indiana
Description
We are seeking an Accounting and Payroll Specialist to join our clients' tea. The person will work closely with the accounting department to ensure accuracy in our financial records, including vendor bills and payroll. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic environment, processing customer applications, maintaining customer records, and resolving inquiries.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately process customer credit applications in a timely manner
• Maintain detailed records of customer credit transactions
• Monitor customer accounts to identify any irregularities and take the necessary actions
• Review and post vendor bills to the general ledger using our ERP system
• Analyze invoices to assign charges correctly and verify their authenticity
• Assign due dates to vendor bills and monitor payment discount opportunities
• Reconcile and resolve any discrepancies with aged outstanding checks or vendor/supplier statements
• Administer the company’s credit card program and report monthly charges accurately
• Process weekly and bi-weekly payroll, including the accurate calculation of prevailing wages for associated jobs
• Calculate, pay, and submit all payroll taxes and employee benefits in a timely manner
• Address company-wide issues and questions regarding payroll and prepare payroll reports as required
• Provide backup phone coverage for the Receptionist position when necessary
• Assist HR Manager with New Hire Orientation as requested
• Monitor and stock all required company safety equipment and maintain the company’s safety manual.
Requirements • Minimum of 2 years experience in an Accounting Clerk role or related position
• Proficient in Account Reconciliation
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) necessary
• Ability to perform Data Entry tasks accurately and efficiently
• Familiarity with Invoice Processing is essential
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel
• Experience with QuickBooks software is required
• Knowledge of Sage Accounting Software is a must
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Must possess strong organizational and time management skills
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field is preferred
• Must adhere to confidentiality and data privacy rules
• Ability to multitask and meet tight deadlines.
