Full Charge Bookkeeper

Robert Half Finance and Accounting is seeking a detail oriented Full Charge Bookkeeper to join their team. Our ideal Bookkeeper candidate will be able to thrive under tight deadlines with minimal supervision while performing as a self-driven and organized accounting professional. In this role you will support the company’s Controller in managing the responsibilities of the department and ensuring that the accounting department runs smoothly. You will assist with A/P and A/R accounts along with all other aspects of general accounting for our 26 store locations. Experience in managing payroll, bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, cash flow, financial statement preparation, audit, and full cycle A/P, will be crucial to this Full Charge Bookkeeper role. This full-time employment opportunity is based in the Rochester, Michigan area.

Your responsibilities

-Oversees the general accounting functions including A/P, A/R, general ledger and taxes.

-Manages company expense reports and payments

-Assists with monthly and yearly financial reports.

-Participates in quarterly and annual audits.

-Works with company accounts such as fleet, credit cards and cell phone accounts including the creation of invoices/credits for all company leased vehicles.

-Manages past due accounts including making collection calls/emails and preparing all small claims court paperwork.

-Oversees company supply vendors, yearly insurance renewals and insurance claims.

-Provides administrative support.

Requirements

-Previous work experience in accounting office management.

-Strong organizational skills with ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail.

-Great interpersonal and communication skills.

-Ability to deal with sensitive and confidential information.

-Patience to learn.

-Problem solving skills.

-Proficiency with MS Excel and other software systems.
