Robert Half Billing Clerk in Rochester, New York


Robert Half is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Billing Clerk to join our client's team. The ideal candidate will possess strong numerical and administrative skills and will be responsible for managing and executing billing processes. This role requires someone who can work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, ensuring accuracy in invoicing and contributing to the financial integrity of the organization.

Key Responsibilities: Prepare Invoices: Generate and issue invoices for goods and services provided, ensuring all details are accurate and complete. Verify Accounts: Verify account information and ensure that charges are accurate and appropriately documented. Customer Inquiries: Address customer inquiries regarding billing issues, resolving discrepancies and providing excellent customer service. Reconcile Accounts: Reconcile accounts receivable ledgers to ensure that all payments are accounted for and properly posted. Maintain Records: Maintain organized and up-to-date billing records, ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. Report Generation: Prepare and present regular reports on billing activity, outstanding invoices, and cash receipts. Process Payments: Process incoming payments and perform daily cash and credit card reconciliations. Assist in Audits: Assist with month-end closing processes and audits by providing requested documentation and explanations. Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with finance and sales teams to ensure accurate billing and smooth operational flow. Compliance: Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations and laws.


Qualifications: Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred. Experience: Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in a billing or accounts receivable role. Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle). Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Strong organizational and time-management skills. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Problem-solving skills and ability to handle high-pressure situations. Attributes: Reliable and dependable.
