Robert Half Collections Specialist in Rochester, New York
Description We are looking to hire a Collections Specialist based in Rochester, New York, for a contract to hire employment opportunity. This role is within the telecom industry and requires managing overdue accounts, negotiating payment arrangements, and maintaining accurate records of all collection activities.
Responsibilities:
• Manage and monitor customer accounts to identify overdue payments.
• Contact customers with overdue accounts via phone, email, and mail to secure payment.
• Negotiate payment plans and settlements with customers to resolve outstanding balances.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payments or billing issues.
• Maintain accurate records of all collection activities, including communication with customers and payment arrangements.
• Collaborate with other departments such as customer service and sales to resolve customer issues and prevent future delinquencies.
• Provide regular updates to management on the status of overdue accounts and collection efforts.
• Stay updated on relevant laws and regulations governing collections practices.
• Use accounting software systems to manage and track collection processes.
• Deliver excellent customer service while dealing with difficult situations. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Familiarity with Billing Functions
• Understanding of Collection Processes
• Experience as a Collector
• Knowledge of Credit systems
• Strong Customer Service skills
• Experience in Collections Management
