Description

Ready to further your accounting skills in a challenging Full Charge Bookkeeper position where there's plenty of opportunity for advancement? Robert Half is seeking a Full Charge Bookkeeper to prepare and process financial statements and accounts and manage all general accounting and bookkeeping essential functions with a company in the Healthcare industry. Apply for this position if you have excellent organizational skills, strong communication tactics, and the ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and deadlines. The long-term contract / temporary to hire Full Charge Bookkeeper will work in Rochester, New York.

Your responsibilities

  • Handling monthly, quarterly and year end close, accurately and on time

  • Maintaining adherence to federal, state, and local legal requirements by keeping up to date on them, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions

  • Managing accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

  • Putting together the trial balance and financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement

  • Maintaining historical records by filing documents

  • Executing accounts payable and accounts receivable tasks, such as collections

  • Reconciling bank and general ledgers, and processing payroll

  • Following progress of fixed assets to prepare depreciation schedules

    Requirements - A deep understanding of accrual and cash basis of accounting

  • Be able to prioritize workload and perform in a fast-paced and challenging environment

    • Earlier work involving Excel, Quickbooks, and Peachtree
  • Prior payroll experience preferred

  • 3 or more years of experience in the bookkeeping field

  • High school diploma or equivalent, AA degree or higher in Accounting or Business preferred

  • Bank reconciliations experience

  • Bookkeeping experience

  • Microsoft Great Plains Accounting experience

  • Deep understanding of Microsoft Excel

  • Be creative, adaptive, and eager to learn new technical skill sets

  • Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities

  • Can work independently with minimal supervision

  • Aptitude for analyzing financial data and generating accurate reports in a timely manner
