Robert Half Full Charge Bookkeeper in Rochester, New York

Description

Job Description: As a Full Charge Bookkeeper at Robert Half, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the financial health and success of our clients. You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the accounting process, from daily transactions to financial reporting. This position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a deep understanding of accounting principles.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable and Receivable Management: Process invoices, payments, and receipts accurately and in a timely manner. Reconcile accounts payable and receivable to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • General Ledger Maintenance: Maintain and update the general ledger by recording all financial transactions, including but not limited to expenses, income, and asset depreciation.

  • Bank Reconciliation: Conduct monthly bank reconciliations to ensure that all transactions are properly recorded and accounted for. Investigate and resolve any discrepancies.

  • Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Generate reports for management review and decision-making purposes.

  • Payroll Processing: Manage payroll functions, including calculating employee wages, processing payroll taxes, and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations.

  • Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the development of budgets and forecasts by providing accurate financial data and analysis. Monitor budget performance and report variances to management.

  • Tax Compliance: Assist with tax preparation and compliance activities, including gathering necessary documentation and preparing schedules for tax returns.

  • Financial Analysis: Conduct financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement. Provide insights and recommendations to management based on analysis findings.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in bookkeeping or accounting roles.

  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
