Description We are seeking a Medical Billing Specialist for a role based in Rochester, New York. This role is within the non-profit industry and it presents a contract to hire employment opportunity. As a Medical Billing Specialist, you will be utilizing various accounting software systems and medical coding standards to perform billing functions, claim administration, and collection processes.

Responsibilities:

• Utilize accounting software systems such as IBM AS/400 and Medisoft for efficient processing of medical billing

• Maintain and update patient records in the EHR SYSTEM, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality

• Use Microsoft Excel for data management and analysis related to billing and accounts receivable

• Handle billing functions, including preparation, submission, and management of claims to insurance companies

• Administer claim procedures, including appeals for denied or underpaid claims

• Oversee the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely collection of payments

• Apply knowledge of medical coding, including ICD codes and ICD-10, for accurate billing

• Resolve any patient inquiries related to billing and payments

• Continually review and improve collection processes to ensure efficiency and compliance. Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Proficiency in using EHR SYSTEM

• Familiarity with IBM AS/400 system

• Experience with Medisoft software

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience in Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Knowledge of Appeals process in medical billing

• Proficiency in Billing Functions

• Knowledge of Claim Administration

• Familiarity with Collection Processes

• Proficiency in Medical Coding

• Knowledge of ICD Codes and ICD-10

• Experience in the Non-Profit industry

• Experience as a Medical Billing Specialist
