Description
We're actively looking for a diligent and organized Medical Billing Specialist to join our team. As a Medical Billing Specialist, your duties will entail handling all aspects of medical billing, including submitting and following up on claims, and maintaining accurate records. You will work within a team to ensure that bills are paid effectively and efficiently.
Responsibilities:
Submitting and resubmitting claims to insurance companies.
Reviewing and resolving patient billing inquiries.
Coordinating with insurance companies to resolve claims.
Checking each insurance payment for accuracy and compliance with contract discount.
Maintaining patient confidentiality as per the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) guidelines.
Tracking all unpaid claims or denials.
Assisting patients with medical billing issues and questions.
Requirements
Requirements:
Proven experience as a medical billing specialist.
Knowledge of medical terminology and legislation, specifically pertaining to insurance claims.
Familiarity with ICD-10 codes and procedures.
Understanding of health insurance concepts, including co-pays, co-insurances, deductibles, etc.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and billing software.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and work under pressure.
Certification in medical billing is advantageous.
