Robert Half Medical Receptionist in Rochester, New York
Description We are offering a contract to hire opportunity for a Medical Receptionist in the healthcare industry, specifically within the hospitals and social assistance sector. Based in Rochester, New York, this role will be integral in ensuring smooth and efficient operations within our facility.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as the first point of contact for patients, both over the phone and in-person, providing excellent customer service.
• Manage appointments and coordinate schedules for healthcare professionals.
• Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system to maintain and update patient records.
• Assist patients and healthcare professionals with inquiries, providing support and solutions as needed.
• Ensure understanding and use of basic medical terminology in communications with patients and healthcare professionals.
• Monitor and manage the flow of information between patients, healthcare professionals, and insurance providers.
• Adhere to all confidentiality and privacy regulations, ensuring the safety and security of patient information.
• Contribute to a fast-paced and dynamic work environment with a proactive and self-starter attitude.
• Perform other related duties as assigned. Requirements • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent; further education in medical administration is a plus
• Proficient in English both written and spoken
• Knowledge of basic medical terminology is essential
• Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system is required
• Proven work experience as a Medical Receptionist or similar role
• Familiarity with medical and insurance legislation
• Excellent organizational and multitasking skills
• Customer-oriented communication skills
• Basic knowledge of IT and ability to troubleshoot minor technical issues
• Ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Willingness to adhere to all healthcare regulations and standards.
