Robert Half Part Time Human Resources Assistant in Rochester, New York
Description
We are offering a part time contract employment opportunity for a meticulous and organized Human Resources (HR) Assistant based in Rochester, New York. This role is primarily focused on maintaining employee personnel files, administering 401k changes, handling HRIS system maintenance, and assisting with leave of absences. The successful candidate will utilize skills in HRMS, About Time, Compensation Administration, Compliance, Employee Relations, Paycom, Paylocity and Benefit Functions to perform their duties.
Responsibilities:
• Maintain and manage digital and physical employee personnel files
• Administer changes to the Vanguard 401k website such as adding/removing employees and updating 401k contribution changes
• Draft and disseminate staffing announcements for new hires, interns, and separations
• Oversee HRIS system maintenance including launching onboarding, updating access, assigning/removing users in supervisor groups, approving benefit changes and adding/removing employee benefits
• Generate reports when necessary, usually for finance or Department of Labor reporting
• Assist employees with leave of absences paperwork completion and ComTon leave system updates
• Track missed benefit payments for employees on leave
• Handle benefit billing.
Requirements • Proficient in HRMS and About Time software
• Solid understanding of Benefit Functions and Compensation Administration
• Familiarity with Compliance regulations in the HR field
• Experience in handling Employee Relations
• Ability to use Paycom and Paylocity software
• Proven track record in similar HR roles
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time-management abilities
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred
