Our client, a manufacturing company with a leading component within automotive, is seeking a strategic leader to work closely with the President. In this role the Controller will manage a team of 3 and would be responsible for financial reporting, banking relationships, budgeting and forecasting and analysis.

You will succeed in this position if you can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. How you will make an impact

  • Perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities

  • Meet client expectations by reviewing deliverables of self and team to make sure they meet client satisfaction

  • Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation

  • Support Finance Department initiatives, including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, through research, planning and implementation, as needed

  • Manage finance department operations, including accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll

  • Present monthly financial reports to executive committee and partners

  • Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies

  • Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management

  • Manage monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, the reconciliations of accounts, and G/L analysis

  • Support punctual cash collection by managing the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques

  • Manage the creation of the annual budget and forecasts and monitor them on a monthly basis

    Requirements - Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations

  • Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills

  • Skillful in analytical, quantitative and social skills

  • CPA or MBA preferred

  • Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines

  • Prior experience in a public accounting environment is highly valued

  • Ability to work well in matrix organization and dealing with ambiguity

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field

  • Excellent technology, analytics and management experience required

  • Practical knowledge of cash forecasting

  • Quality experience with Leadership Skills

  • Proven knowledge of Business Strategy

  • General familiarity with Annual Budget

  • Wide ranging experience with Microsoft Excel

  • Earlier work involving Epicor

  • Well-founded grasp of strategic planning

  • Deep understanding of financial statement preparation

  • Analyze Financial Statements experience desired

  • Foundational knowledge in financial statements consolidation

  • Month end closings experience highly desired

  • Expertise in Consolidated Financial Statements

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
