Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Rockford, Minnesota

Description We are looking for a meticulous Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team located in Rockford, Minnesota. This role will primarily involve the daily administration of our manufacturing facility's accounting and finance activities. The selected candidate will also be involved in financial statement preparation, financial analysis, and continuous improvement of the accounting function.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure safety at work and promote a safe work environment.

• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts on a recurring basis, including posting monthly journal entries and completing account reconciliations.

• Conduct the month and year-end closing process.

• Provide monthly production variance analysis and investigate discrepancies.

• Prepare analytical reports as part of the executive monthly reporting package.

• Provide weekly/monthly spending reports and variance reports for plant personnel.

• Ensure GAAP is incorporated into the management of the business. Report on IFRS basis where applicable.

• Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and support effective and efficient financial audits.

• Oversee plant inventories and support stock provision calculations.

• Review and approve accounts payable payment runs on a weekly basis.

• Assist with the plant budget, if requested.

• Provide cost accounting expertise for the manufacturing operation by maintaining the standard cost system.

• Work closely with manufacturing operations to ensure accurate and timely capture of all production costs and effective analysis of production variances.

• Prepare, review, and update standard product costs in SAP.

• Develop, monitor, and analyze manufacturing overhead absorption models, labor rate models, and energy models.

• Generate the monthly and yearly cost runs in SAP.

• Develop and maintain thorough financial procedures and systems in accordance with accounting manual.

• Assist the Finance team in developing more effective workflow processes. Requirements • Minimum of 3 years of experience in an Accounting Manager/Supervisor role or similar position.

• Proficiency in Accounting Functions and Standard Cost Accounting.

• Prior experience in the Manufacturing Industry, specifically with Manufacturing Cost Accounting.

• Ability to perform Month End Close and create Journal Entries.

• Expertise in Account Reconciliation and Financial Analysis.

• Experience in KPI Reporting and Variance Analysis.

• Exceptional Communication Skills, both written and verbal.

• Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA.

• Familiarity with Cycle Count procedures.

• Demonstrated ability to drive Continuous Process Improvement.

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is preferred.

• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is an advantage.

• Strong analytical and strategic problem-solving skills.

• Demonstrated leadership abilities and team management skills.

• Familiarity with accounting software and related systems.

• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in work.

• Ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

• High ethical standards and professionalism, given the sensitive nature of the information handled.
