Robert Half is recruiting for an exciting opportunity with a growing organization in the Rockville, MD area!

Position Overview: As the Fulfillment Center Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of our fulfillment center operations. This includes managing staff, optimizing processes, and ensuring timely and accurate order fulfillment. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a deep understanding of fulfillment operations, and a commitment to continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management: Lead and manage the fulfillment center team, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management. Foster a positive and productive work environment.

  • Operational Efficiency: Oversee all aspects of fulfillment operations, including receiving, picking, packing, shipping, and returns processing. Ensure efficient and accurate order fulfillment.

  • Inventory Management: Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure accuracy and availability. Implement inventory control procedures and conduct regular audits.

  • Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement best practices to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs. Utilize data and metrics to drive continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Quality Control: Maintain high standards of quality control throughout the fulfillment process. Implement and enforce procedures to ensure accurate and damage-free order processing.

  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies. Implement and maintain safety protocols to provide a safe working environment for all employees.

  • Customer Service: Collaborate with the customer service team to address and resolve customer issues related to order fulfillment. Ensure timely and satisfactory resolution of customer inquiries and complaints.

  • Technology Utilization: Utilize warehouse management systems (WMS) and other technology tools to optimize fulfillment processes. Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies.

  • Budget Management: Manage the fulfillment center budget, including labor, equipment, and supplies. Identify cost-saving opportunities and optimize resource allocation.

  • Reporting and Analysis: Generate and analyze reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, fulfillment speed, and inventory accuracy. Provide regular updates to senior management on fulfillment center performance.

    Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field preferred.

Minimum of 3 of experience in fulfillment center or warehouse management.

Strong leadership and team management skills.

Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities.

Proficiency in warehouse management systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in fulfillment operations.

Strong analytical skills and ability to use data to drive decision-making.
