Description We are seeking an Accounting Manager in Rome, Georgia. The primary industry is government, and the role is essential in executing comprehensive audit activities, financial management tasks, and providing financial advice. Responsibilities:
• Manage all aspects of general ledger accounting, spanning from accounts receivable, accounts payable, to payroll.
• Lead the preparation of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, reports for government regulatory agencies, stakeholders, and tax returns.
• Coordinate and execute annual audits, ensuring compliance with state and federal laws.
• Prepare, maintain, and analyze budgetary reports for various government programs and activities.
• Assess and improve current practices and policies, implementing new processes where necessary.
• Guide junior team members and conduct performance evaluations to ensure team efficiency.
• Collaborate with upper management to devise and implement strategic financial planning.
• Participate in forecasting procedures and activities to ensure accurate financial planning.
• Coordinate with external auditors, manage the process, and communicate results promptly to relevant parties.
• Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and timely submission of financial data to maintain transparency and trust with stakeholders.

• Ability to prepare and present financial statements accurately
• Proficiency in handling and maintaining the general ledger
• Experience in managing month-end close procedures
• Ability to conduct audits, ensuring compliance with financial laws and regulations
• Proficiency in using Yardi software for real estate and property management
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and complex formulas
• Strong leadership qualities to manage and guide an accounting team
• Excellent analytical skills for interpreting complex financial data
• Exceptional communication skills for reporting financial information
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required
• CPA or equivalent certification is preferred
• A minimum of five years of experience in a similar role.
