Description

Lancaster County company is seeking a Controller to join their team. Can be a someone ready to step up to controller level. The Controller will take lead in establishing financial policies and procedures appropriate to the Company, working with the President to develop the appropriate finance team and suggest and implement improvements where needed.

The Controller is responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the Company and will work closely with the President and other department heads to ensure the Company uses its financial resources wisely, prudently, and to maximum benefit. .

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Financial Reporting o Oversees and contributes to creation of financial reports required by the

President of the Company and by other members of the senior staff; o Oversees and contributes to creation of quarterly and annual financial statements;

o Serves as the primary point of contact with the Company’s independent accounting firm for the preparation of the Annual Financial Statement and the filing of federal and local taxes;

o Oversees monthly creation of financial reports to the Board;

o Collaborates with the President to create meaningful financial reporting for staff and employees;

o Is responsible for providing required reporting to financing institutions as well as oversight and tracking of required terms and conditions;

• Financial Practice and Procedures o Oversees and is responsible for the various financial activities of the Company, including but not limited to collection of cash payments, management of accounts receivable and accounts payable, payroll, maintenance of the Company’s cash position and banking relationships;

o Oversees creation and maintenance of accurate accounting records; o Oversees and contributes to the creation of ongoing monitoring of

Company performance and corrective actions where necessary; o Establishes and oversees appropriate costing structures and reporting of manufacturing, freight, and guest-related operations;

o Works with functional heads to assist in preparing job quotes to maintain appropriate profitability levels;

o Establishes and maintains policies and procedures to limit risk associated with handling of cash, extension of credit, and electronic transactions involving movement of funds;

o Maintains knowledge of current tax, financial, and reporting regulations and practices;

o Works with computer service providers and financial service providers to identify and mitigate risk of cyber fraud and theft;

o With President, prepares quarterly reports to the Finance Committee of the Board highlighting areas of risk that deserve Board oversight and attention;

o Works with other members of the Senior Team to plan and negotiate appropriate types and levels of insurance for the Company and its

Directors, including health insurance for employees; o Oversees the Company’s banking relationships to maximize return on invested funds as well as access to adequate borrowing capacity at favorable rates and terms;

Requirements

Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance along with 5 plus years of progressive accounting experience. CPA or MBA a plus.
