The permanent Controller position is situated in the Rosemead, California area. Candidates who can plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff, will be preferred for this position. What you get to do every day
Ensure deliverables of self and team meet client expectations
Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Prepare cash-flow reports that project cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, and handle daily cash management
Flexible in completing tasks beyond formal job responsibilities
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
Give financial reports to executive committee and partners each month
Complete month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, reconcile accounts, and handle G/L analysis
Support Finance Department initiatives, such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, with research, planning, and implementation, as required Requirements - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Strong communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, and ability to build as well as deliver effective presentations
Experience working in a dynamic and changing company environment a plus
Prior work in technology, analytics and management experience desired
Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Sharp, analytical thinking abilities, always seeking to draw connections and identify the "why"
Strong communication and social skills and able to receive criticism well
Great attention to detail
7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Wide ranging experience with Monthly Financial Close
Quality experience with financial reporting
Practical knowledge of Financial Forecast
Good understanding of SAP ERP
Comprehensive knowledge of GAAP Accounting
Manufacturing Cost Accounting experience
Earlier work involving Month-end Financial
Standard costs experience
US GAAP experience
General familiarity with Annual Financial Reporting
Well-founded grasp of month end closings
Deep understanding of manufacturing
Proven knowledge of cost accounting
Ability to prioritize work and balance multiple projects and deadlines
