Description
We are looking for a knowledgeable and meticulous Temporary Workers Compensation Indemity Examiner to analyze and process workers' compensation claims. The primary responsibilities of this role include reviewing and evaluating workers' compensation claims, focusing on indemnity discipline. The individual would be expected to work out the suitable benefits while ensuring compliance with relevant legal requirements. This is a temporary role, available for a tentative period of 6 months.
Responsibilities:
Review and evaluate all pertinent information to assess the legitimacy of workers' compensation claims.
Calculating and verifying amounts payable, setting reserves and adhering to the committed cost, and making timely payments.
Coordinate with medical providers to resolve disputes about medical bills and treatments.
Prepare written communication regarding the status and decisions of claims.
Engage in negotiation with injured workers or their attorneys to settle claims.
Maintain comprehensive, updated records of claims and their respective outcomes.
Consistently monitor and manage diary dates and follow up on pending items.
Adhere to regulatory and department standards, guidelines, and protocols.
Ensure all claims are handled in accordance with state laws and regulations.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Administration or relevant field.
Previous work experience as a Workers Compensation Examiner or in a similar role in the insurance field.
Sound knowledge of laws, regulations and guidelines related to workers’ compensation.
Famely with indemnity discipline and the ability to analyze different kinds of indemnity claims.
Exceptional negotiation and decision-making skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail and the capability to prioritize tasks.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and claims management software.
A valid license as a Compensation Claims Examiner preferred.
