You will succeed in this Staff Accountant position if you can prepare journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance, and general ledger reconciliation. To thrive in this role, you will need to perform internal reporting during the monthly close, participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules reporting processes. What you get to do every day
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Partake in a variety of department-wide initiatives
In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as requested
Contribute to the implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Assemble journal entries and thorough account reconciliations that include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Produce analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for reporting by management
Compose journal entries and conduct the month end close with minimal supervision
Support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process, which includes monthly financial close workbook preparation
Maintain depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Periodically maintain and reconcile journal entries
Manage intercompany billings, transactions, and reconciliation
Requirements
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
ERP system experience
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Self-starter and strong ethical standards
Candidate must possess first-rate analytical, quantitative and social skills
Proficient with spreadsheets and databases
Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills
Strong familiarity with journal entries
Month end closings experience
SAP experience a plus
General ledger experience
Solid understanding of bank reconciliations
Ability to handle multiple projects within strict deadlines
