The Controller will be a permanent employment opportunity and will be located in the Roseville, Minnesota region. To succeed in this role, you will need to plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Your responsibilities in this role
Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operation
Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
Assess, execute and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Prepare cash-flow reports, projecting cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals, daily cash management
Manage the creation of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
Present executive committee and partners with monthly financial reports
Perform duties beyond formal job responsibilities
Perform tasks associated with month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Inspect deliverables of self and team to ensure that they meet client expectations Requirements - BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Be detailed, flexible, and organized
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Demonstrated ability in strong analytical, quantitative and social skills
Past work in technology, analytics and management experience highly valued
Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent
Able to build and deliver effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
3+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Solid understanding of budgeting
Expertise in Analysis planning
Non-profit fund accounting experience
Deep understanding of Annual Planning
Month end closings experience highly desired
Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
