Payroll Specialist

Do you possess top-notch communication skills and a passion to advance in your specific field? As a Payroll Specialist for one of our clients, you would become an integral part of the Payroll department. Based in the Royal Oak, Michigan area, this position would be needed on a full-time basis. Data entry, reconciliation of timecards, paycheck distribution, calculating commissions and supplying departments with statements are key parts of the position. Communicating and collaborating with the internal team and outside customers require strong social skills.

Key responsibilities

  • Train and instruct employees in the proper use of payroll-related systems including entry of timesheets, online access of pay statements, etc.

  • Assist in office efficiency by carrying out clerical duties such as filing, scanning, faxing, photocopying, etc.

  • Obtain timesheet approvals by contacting employees via email and phone

  • Gather data into spreadsheets and the payroll system

  • Make reports easily accessible by administer/saving them as instructed

  • Generate and run custom reports

  • Fulfill other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Paycor experience preferred

-Outstanding data entry skills

  • Great attention to detail

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Eagerness to master new systems

  • Microsoft Excel experience

  • Strong payroll experience required

  • Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities

  • Payroll software experience is a plus
