Robert Half has an opportunity available for a Accounting Assistant interested in a permanent position. We are in need of organized and self-driven accounting professionals for a new Accounting Assistant position. You will thrive in this role if you are able to work with minimal supervision under tight deadlines. This role involves handling the daily functions of processing receiving reports, generating invoices, and managing billing discrepancies. Location: Secaucus/Rutherford Area. Your responsibilities in this role

· Processing receiving report packages and related documents

· Identifying and addressing discrepancies such as damages, shortages, and pricing errors · Collaborating with buyers to ensure accuracy of purchase orders · Generating debit notes for damages, shortages, and pricing discrepancies · Sending debit notes to accounts payable email for review and approval · Generating pre-ship invoices and emailing them to respective buyers · Generating invoices, packing slips, and profit margin reports · Matching profit margin reports with sales order worksheets · Logging invoices into the system and maintaining traffic department records · Coordinating with the Traffic Department for shipping documents · Filing invoices and Bills of Lading (BOL) into customer files · Maintaining physical accounts payable and customer files, and archiving quarterly

Requirements

Qualifications:

· High school diploma or equivalent; associate’s degree preferred · Previous experience in receiving, billing, or related field preferred · Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and accounting software · Strong organizational and multitasking skills · Excellent attention to detail and accuracy · AccountMate experience
