Robert Half Assistant Controller in Sacramento, California

Description

Amanda Warren of Robert Half is looking to add a dynamic Assistant Controller to an amazing company located in Sacramento, California. This role involves a range of accounting functions, directly supporting all areas of the business. The Assistant Controller will work closely with purchasing, accounts payable, and senior accountants, ensuring accuracy of data flow between integrated platforms and managing inventory systems and processes.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with purchasing, accounts payable, and senior accountants to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting requirements

• Manage multiple tasks efficiently to meet deadlines

• Oversee the cost accounting process, ensuring accuracy of data flow between integrated ERP platforms

• Take charge of the scale-up of inventory systems and processes, including software identification and implementation

• Review and/or prepare general ledger account reconciliations for various accounting areas, including inventory and cost of goods sold

• Independently identify, research, and follow up on non-standard situations to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies and procedures

• Assist with assurance and tax compliance under US GAAP

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and senior management on special projects, strategic initiatives, and other ad-hoc analysis as needed

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role or in the field of finance and accounting

• Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems

• Knowledge and experience in using ADP - Financial Services

• Familiarity with ERP - Enterprise Resource Planning and ERP Solutions

• Experience with Great Plains (GPAC) is preferable

• Mastery of various Accounting Functions

• Ability to manage Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience in Auditing (Public Accounting experience)

• Knowledge of Budget Processes and ability to implement them effectively

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting or a related field is preferred

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and leadership abilities

• Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity

• Ability to strategize and solve problems

• Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize

• Understanding of data analysis and forecasting

• CPA required
