Position Summary:

The Donor Relations Coordinator is responsible for assisting the Director of Philanthropy in overseeing the relationship between Business and individual and organizational donors. They are responsible for the daily accounting and processing of donor gifts into the database, processing donor thank you letters, processing in-kind donations, and providing customer service to donors over the phone and in person. This position is the first and last point of contact for many active and potential donors, and as such must maintain the highest level of customer service, attention to detail and knowledge about donor protocol and stewardship.

3. (20%) In-Kind Donations & Special Projects

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.

• Intermediate skill with Microsoft Suite database, spreadsheet and word processing software.

• Experience with Financial Edge, Raiser’s Edge and Greater Giving databases preferred.

• Ability to learn a multi-module database, to analyze and interpret complex codes and information and create reports.

• Ability to effectively operate office equipment: phone system, copy machine, fax, etc.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills.

• Comfortable speaking on the telephone and answering questions.

• Ability to speak with people when they have complaints in a patient and thoughtful manner.
