Robert Half Bookkeeper in Sacramento, California

Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for a skilled Bookkeeper in Sacramento, California. The successful candidate will be tasked with maintaining accurate financial records, managing payroll, and assisting with grant management and donation processing, among other responsibilities. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial management systems and processes.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain precise financial records using QuickBooks software

• Manage and process payroll, including time tracking and coordination with external accounting firm

• Handle accrual-based accounting tasks to ensure accuracy and compliance

• Assist in managing grants and processing donations to support organizational objectives

• Conduct monthly account reconciliations in collaboration with external accounting firm

• Order office supplies to maintain a well-stocked and efficient workspace

• Close books with support from previous team members, ensuring a seamless transition of responsibilities

• Prepare year-end financial statements to provide an accurate reflection of the organization's financial status

• Perform other office management duties as required, contributing to overall operational efficiency

• Utilize skills in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, Bookkeeping, Data Entry, Microsoft Excel, Month End Close, Payroll, and QuickBooks to perform tasks efficiently and effectively. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years experience in a bookkeeping role

• Proficiency in Account Reconciliation, Accounts Payable (AP), and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Experience with Bank Reconciliations and Bookkeeping

• Strong Data Entry skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

• Experience with Month End Close procedures

• Familiarity with Payroll procedures and systems

• Proficiency in QuickBooks or similar accounting software

• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information

• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred but not required

• Must have legal right to work in the country of employment without must be eligible to work in the U.S..
