In this role, it will be critical for you to plan and direct all accounting operational functions, handle the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluate accounting and internal control systems, and lead departmental staff. Effectively manage self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services will be essential for this role, and a creative type who can lead while also being a team player, generate innovative ideas, and challenge the status quo. How you will make an impact
Work closely with executive team and partners to ensure that firm-wide operation is efficient and effective
Handle daily cash management and produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
Responsible for month-end and year-end close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
Oversee the activities of the finance department, such as accounts payable, billings & collections, and payroll
Capable of handling responsibilities beyond formal job duties
Ensure deliverables of self and team meet client expectations
Research, prepare and execute Finance Department initiatives such as software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as required
Each month, present executive committee and partners with financial reports
Time monthly billing and other cash management techniques to make sure cash collection is punctual
Manage the production of and monthly monitoring of the annual budget and forecasts
Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Previous experience in public accounting is highly valued
High attention to detail and possesses excellent organizational and writing skills
10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including as a Controller preferred
Notable analytical, quantitative and social skills
Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic and constantly changing company environment
Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are preferred
BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business related field
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
Ability to effectively interact, verbally and in writing
Solid understanding of Consolidated Financial Statements
Intercompany Accounting experience preferred
