Description
We have a client that has an exciting opportunity in the Greater Sacramento area, for a Controller to join their team. As a Controller, you will be part of the team, working within the industry, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and standards, and managing various accounting functions. Responsibilities:
• Oversee and maintain an accurate record of financial transactions and ensure compliance with accounting principles and standards.
• Carry out a monthly close process of the financials.
• Handle accounts payables and accounts receivables, including bank deposits and segregation of duties.
• Conduct monthly reconciliation of bank and credit card statements, balance sheet, donor software to the general ledger and intercompany transactions.
• Prepare monthly financial reports and statements for the executive team.
• Maintain a cash flow forecast.
• Process employee reimbursements and run payroll bi-weekly for employees.
• Submit taxes and complete yearly PCI compliance on merchant accounts.
• Work collaboratively with the CEO to prepare the annual budget and process annual W2's and 1099s.
• Lead annual audits/reviews with external auditors.
• Respond to Unemployment, EDD, correspondence and audits.
• Manage employee records including date of hire, compensation and benefits, leave records and other pertinent personnel data.
• Direct the execution of all benefits programs, including health insurance, 401(k) programs, etc.
• Manage the annual insurance renewal process and ensure appropriate coverage is maintained.
Requirements • Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems
• Comprehensive understanding of Accounting Functions
• Experience with Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Knowledge of Auditing procedures and practices
• Familiarity with Budget Processes
• Proficiency in QuickBooks software
• Understanding of Fuel Tax regulations and procedures
• Demonstrable Leadership Skills
