Description
Lisa Cole with Robert Half is currently working with a client seeking a cost accountant. This critical Cost Accountant role is responsible for the ongoing analysis of product cost, development of new product cost and margin analysis. This role will also establish customer pricing by working closely with the sales teams and senior financial management team. Key responsibilities
Carry out variance analysis such as Purchase Price to Cost variance, cost revaluation, Invoice to PO price variances and work order variances.
Execute standardized costing methodology for all domestic plants
Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) for financial statements.
Prepare and complete internal cost audits.
Generate reports comparing production costs to standard costs and analyze manufacturing costs.
Analyze and recommend costs and cost savings.
Monitor the cycle count program and conduct physical inventories.
Assemble reports that specify and compare factors that affect prices and profitability of products or services..
Analyze any changes in goods or services provided in order to determine what effect it has on the cost.
Log a detailed record of collected data.
Design a cost accounting system and manage the documents and records of the organization.
Plan projects and collect data to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory, and labor usage, waste.
Support audits and general ledger preparation.
Make calculations of new and proposed product costs
Requirements
Requirements:
2+ years of Cost Accounting work experience
Very detail oriented and expert analytical thinking skills
Bachelors degree in accounting or related field
Proficient at analyzing financial data and promptly creating accurate reports.
