Robert Half Human Resources (HR) Manager in Sacramento, California

Description Robert Half is partnering with a growing client to hire a Human Resources Manager. The HR Manager is responsible for overseeing personnel and daily operations of the human resources department. What you get to do every single day

  • Manage the organization's human resources department by planning, implementing, and evaluating employee relations and human resources policies, programs, and practices

  • Be familiar with and implement applicable human resource federal and state requirements, conduct investigations, maintain records, and represent the organization at hearings

  • Lead and define exit interviews and procedures

  • Manage human resource staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees

  • Assess reports provided by the HR team, team leaders and operations managers to determine employee performance and training needs

  • Maintain historical human resource records by designing a filing and retrieval system and keeping past and current records

  • Represent your team at interdepartmental meetings with other managers

  • Research compensation standards set by industry and governing bodies in order to create salary structures and administer employee benefits

  • Establish management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resource policies and procedures

  • Support employees such that they follow all policies and procedures

  • Supervise all HR activities, communications, reports, requests and documents created and received by the team

  • Generate recruitment plans, interview schedules and evaluation standards in accordance with HR methodologies and labor laws Requirements - Familiarity with HR software and working knowledge of MS Office

  • Ability to view issues without prejudice

  • Excellent oral and written communications skills

  • Previous experience in handling confidential business matters and information with discretion

  • Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities

  • A familiarity with the key principles of employment law and EEOC regulations

  • 1+ years of supervisory experience within human resources

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field

  • Adept to problem-solving and conflict resolution

  • 5+ years in human resources

  • Deep knowledge of HR policies, benefits administration, compensation and wage structure

  • Impeccable ethics, integrity, and standards

  • PHR/SPHR or other relevant certifications are desired
