Description We are offering a contract to permanent employment opportunity for an Insurance Verification Coordinator in Sacramento, California. The Insurance Verification Coordinator will play a crucial role in reviewing and understanding insurance contracts, calculating patient responsibilities, and explaining benefits to patients. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment and excels in achieving and exceeding goals.
Responsibilities:
• Accurately interpret and understand insurance benefits
• Read and determine the allowed amount for scheduled procedures from contracts
• Calculate patient's estimated responsibilities based on their benefits and scheduled procedures
• Explain to patients their estimated balances and benefits
• Understand different insurance products such as HMO, PPO, and Medicare Advantage plans
• Work well within a team and under pressure
• Handle a fast-paced and heavy volume work environment
• Understand how copay, coinsurance, deductible and out-of-pocket maximum affect claim adjudication and patient responsibility
• Process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently
• Maintain accurate customer credit records. Requirements
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role or related field.
• Familiarity with insurance verification procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize work according to urgency.
• Proficient in using computer software and applications related to the job.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Exceptional organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High level of accuracy and efficiency.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of medical terms and insurance practices.
• Ability to handle confidential information responsibly.
