Description

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced civil litigation attorney to join our growing law firm. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in civil litigation, with a focus on one or more of the following areas:

• Personal injury

• Medical malpractice

• Product liability

• Commercial litigation

• Employment law

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a caseload of civil litigation matters from inception through trial, including:

• Conducting legal research

• Drafting pleadings and other legal documents

• Managing discovery

• Preparing for and attending trials and hearings

• Negotiating settlements

The ideal candidate will be a strong advocate for clients and have excellent oral and written communication skills. The candidate must also be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of civil litigation matters from inception through trial

• Conduct legal research and draft pleadings and other legal documents

• Manage discovery

• Prepare for and attend trials and hearings

• Negotiate settlements

• Communicate with clients and keep them informed of the status of their cases

• Work with other attorneys and paralegals to prepare for and represent clients in court

  Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school

• Admission to practice law in California

• At least one year of experience in civil litigation

• Strong research and writing skills

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
