A prominent law firm based in Sacramento, CA, is seeking a highly skilled Construction Defect Litigation Attorney to join their team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced legal environment, handling complex construction defect litigation matters involving residential, commercial, and industrial properties. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering successful outcomes in construction defect disputes. As a Construction Defect Litigation Attorney, you will manage all phases of the litigation process, from pre-litigation investigation to trial or settlement. You will provide high-quality legal services, representing clients in construction defect claims related to construction negligence, substandard workmanship, and contractor liability.
Key Responsibilities:
Represent clients in construction defect litigation cases, including disputes involving residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects.
Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements, tailored to construction defect claims.
Conduct in-depth legal research on construction defect laws and relevant building codes to build strong legal arguments.
Lead and manage all phases of discovery, including the review and analysis of construction-related documents such as contracts, inspection reports, blueprints, and expert witness depositions.
Represent clients in court proceedings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations related to construction defect disputes.
Develop and execute legal strategies aimed at resolving construction defect claims efficiently, including advising clients on risk mitigation and settlement options.
Maintain open and consistent communication with clients to provide case updates, gather pertinent information, and advise on legal strategies.
Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach to managing construction defect cases.
Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by senior attorneys, including involvement in mediation and expert consultation.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
Active license to practice law in California.
Minimum of 3 years of experience handling construction defect litigation matters.
Strong understanding of California construction defect laws, including the Right to Repair Act (SB800), statutes of limitations, and negligence standards in construction.
Expertise in drafting and arguing complex motions, briefs, and legal memoranda related to construction defect disputes.
Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with a particular focus on construction defect law.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with experience advocating in court and during settlement negotiations.
Ability to manage a high caseload, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues to achieve the best results for clients.
Strong professional demeanor, attention to detail, and commitment to providing excellent legal services.
