A prominent law firm based in Sacramento, CA, is seeking a highly skilled Construction Defect Litigation Attorney to join their team. This position offers the opportunity to work in a fast-paced legal environment, handling complex construction defect litigation matters involving residential, commercial, and industrial properties. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of delivering successful outcomes in construction defect disputes. As a Construction Defect Litigation Attorney, you will manage all phases of the litigation process, from pre-litigation investigation to trial or settlement. You will provide high-quality legal services, representing clients in construction defect claims related to construction negligence, substandard workmanship, and contractor liability.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in construction defect litigation cases, including disputes involving residential, commercial, and industrial construction projects.

  • Draft and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and settlement agreements, tailored to construction defect claims.

  • Conduct in-depth legal research on construction defect laws and relevant building codes to build strong legal arguments.

  • Lead and manage all phases of discovery, including the review and analysis of construction-related documents such as contracts, inspection reports, blueprints, and expert witness depositions.

  • Represent clients in court proceedings, depositions, mediations, and arbitrations related to construction defect disputes.

  • Develop and execute legal strategies aimed at resolving construction defect claims efficiently, including advising clients on risk mitigation and settlement options.

  • Maintain open and consistent communication with clients to provide case updates, gather pertinent information, and advise on legal strategies.

  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal professionals to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive approach to managing construction defect cases.

  • Take on additional tasks and responsibilities as directed by senior attorneys, including involvement in mediation and expert consultation.

    Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

  • Active license to practice law in California.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience handling construction defect litigation matters.

  • Strong understanding of California construction defect laws, including the Right to Repair Act (SB800), statutes of limitations, and negligence standards in construction.

  • Expertise in drafting and arguing complex motions, briefs, and legal memoranda related to construction defect disputes.

  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills, with a particular focus on construction defect law.

  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with experience advocating in court and during settlement negotiations.

  • Ability to manage a high caseload, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with colleagues to achieve the best results for clients.

  • Strong professional demeanor, attention to detail, and commitment to providing excellent legal services.
