Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Medical Collections Specialist in Sacramento, California. As a key member of our team, you will utilize your skills in medical collections, medical terminology, and healthcare revenue cycle management to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our collections process.
Responsibilities:
• Read and interpret insurance contracts to determine the allowed amount
• Understand Explanation of Benefits and its impact on claim adjudication and patient liability
• Handle a heavy volume of work in a fast-paced environment
• Work effectively with insurance companies to resolve denied or underpaid claims
• Discuss balances with patients and explain adjudication outcomes
• Use analytical skills to make sound decisions on claim resolution
• Write strong appeals when necessary
• Work well within a team to achieve and exceed goals
• Understand different insurance products such as HMO, PPO, and Medicare Advantage plans.
• Maintain quality follow up on accounts while meeting production goals. Requirements • Proficiency in Medical Collections
• Comprehensive knowledge of Medical Terminology
• Ability to handle Claim Denials effectively
• Solid understanding of HealthCare Revenue Cycle
• Experience in HealthCare Reimbursement
• Proven ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to the highest degree of professional standards
• Commitment to ongoing professional development and learning
• Proficiency in using various computer applications and software related to the role
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
