Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for a Medical Collections Specialist in Sacramento, California. This role is within the healthcare industry and will be based in an office setting. As a Medical Collections Specialist, you will be expected to manage medical collections and understand various insurance products.
Responsibilities:
• Interpret contracts to determine the allowed amount.
• Comprehend and apply Explanation of Benefits in work.
• Understand the impact of copay, coinsurance, deductible, and out-of-pocket max on claim adjudication and patient liability.
• Demonstrate a solid understanding of different insurance products such as HMO, PPO, and Medicare Advantage plans.
• Write strong appeals and effectively work with insurance companies to resolve denied or underpaid claims.
• Comfortably communicate with patients about their balances and explain adjudication outcomes.
• Efficiently handle a fast-paced and high volume work environment.
• Work well under pressure and excel in achieving and exceeding goals.
• Collaborate effectively within a team.
• Exhibit analytical skills – ability to make sound decisions on how to resolve a claim.
• Ensure quality and effective follow-up on accounts while meeting production goals. Requirements • Proficiency in Medical Collections is required.
• The candidate must have a solid understanding of Medical Terminology.
• Demonstrated knowledge in Medical Terminology is essential.
• Experience in handling Claim Denials is necessary.
• Familiarity with HealthCare Revenue Cycle is expected.
• Knowledge of HealthCare Reimbursement is important.
