Robert Half Finance is looking for a talented, accurate Staff Accountant to fill a full-time position within an innovative company. In this role, the Staff Accountant is in charge of preparing journal entries, monthly and year-end closings, bank reconciliation, fixed asset maintenance and general ledger reconciliation. You will also be responsible for various aspects of internal reporting throughout the monthly close. You will lend your skills to developing and implementing accounting policies. Also, you will participate in compliance, interact with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. This position is very complex as it plays a part in the production of Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. Manage schedules for capital lease and monthly payments
In-depth knowledge of reconciling month end balance sheet accounts
Prepare monthly financial close workbooks to support the month end, quarter end and year end closing process
Assemble analyses for monthly balance sheets and income statements for management reporting
Periodic maintenance and reconciliation of journal entries
Prepare journal entries and account reconciliations which include, but are not limited to, cash, prepaid expenses, and payroll
Oversee depreciation, fixed asset ledgers, and reconciliation
Upon request, take part in special projects and impromptu reporting
Implement, maintain, and adhere to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAP
Take part in various department-wide initiatives
Perform month end close, journal entries, with minimum supervision
Maintain intercompany transactions, billings, and reconciliation
Analyze and coordinate a variety of financial data, and report it in a useful and understandable manner
Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required
Ability to work within spreadsheets and databases
BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics
Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
Recent and relevant accounting experience
Knowledgeable of ERP systems
Code Invoices experience
Strong familiarity with Accounts Payable (AP)
Cash applications experience preferred
Expertise in month end closings
Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
Proven analytical skills - defining problems, collecting relevant data, drawing valid conclusions, and recommending improvement/corrective actions
Spreadsheet and database capabilities
Comfortable working in a changing and dynamic environment
Attentive, ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
