Robert Half Accounting Manager/Supervisor in Saint Paul, Minnesota

Description We are seeking an Accounting Manager/Supervisor to join our team in the non-profit industry, located in Saint Paul, Minnesota. In this role, you will be tasked with managing accounting functions including accounts payable and receivable, ensuring compliance with federal grants, and supporting billing improvements across the organization.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the day-to-day functions of the accounts payable department, ensuring vendors are paid in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for federal grants compliance, reviewing contract and grant applications to ensure compliance.

• Assist with billing across the organization and implement improvements within systems for increased efficiencies and cost savings.

• Maintain a solid understanding of GAAP and all concepts of accounting including journal entry creation.

• Lead accounts payable through changes such as software upgrades and transitions to automated payables systems.

• Provide training to others as required to ensure compliance with regulations.

• Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary.

• Maintain accurate customer credit records and process customer credit applications accurately and efficiently.

• Utilize skills in Accounting Functions, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Auditing, Billing Functions, Billing, Grant Accounting, Federal Grant, Journal Entry, Journal Entries, General Ledger, Great Plains (GPAC) to perform tasks.

• Manage and oversee the efficient processing of payables within our software to meet our goals. Requirements • Proven experience in managing accounting functions in a non-profit setting

• Proficient in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Demonstrated expertise in auditing procedures

• Capable of managing both billing functions and billing processes

• Experience in Grant Accounting, specifically with Federal Grants

• Ability to process and oversee journal entries

• Proficient in maintaining and managing the General Ledger

• Familiarity with Great Plains (GPAC) accounting software

• Strong organizational and multitasking skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field

• Relevant professional certifications are a plus

• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

• Knowledge of non-profit financial regulations and standards.
